In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a notary public is an official appointed and authorized by the Department of State to serve as an impartial person to administer an oath or to witness and attest to the signing of important documents.
A notary may be located within a business as an employee to service that entity and notarize the documents presented to them by the employees or leadership.
A mobile notary is an independent official that travels to a convenient location for his/her customers to deliver the notary services. Locations can vary such as your home, place of employment, hospital, jail, nursing home, funeral home or even a local coffee shop.
The fees charged by a mobile notaries may vary depending on various factors such as mileage, administrative expenses (i.e. printing of documents) or service performed.
